Recording the CD & video

The music recording for the project was started in April 2002, and was completed at the End of October, ready for CD manufacture
The CD is available locally or by mail order - see news page for details
It was recorded in a studio in Felixstowe called the Wendy House
On the 1st April, Troy & Carl spent a day putting down the drums and bass
There then followed 3 busy months, recording the rest of the rhythm section (guitars and keyboards), followed by many sessions of core vocals - an average of 12 female vocals each session, creating clear melody as well as all the harmony parts.
Brass, woodwind, percussion overdubs continued, including several players from Deben High School's Jazz Band

A teaching CD was produced and distributed at the end of June . These CDs were used in the schools to help teach the songs
The songs were taught in the first 4-5 weeks of the autumn term, with the actual children's recording sessions taking place in early October. The recording was then mixed and the CDs manufactured, ready for release on the 30th November

Filming started for the video in July 2002, with outside location shots in the Spa Gardens on the sea front, at Landguard fort, at Deben Lodge Farm, Falkenham and on the pier
In September, indoor filming was underway, at Cavendish Community Church and again a Deben Lodge Farm.
In October, during the main recording day for Key Stage 2 children at Trimley St Martin School, lots of extra shots were taken, including many 'green screen' shots of the children. These special shots included groups of children on Santa's 'Sleigh'.
The 'green screen' shots were was later 'keyed' onto various background images for effect.
In late November, video directors Andrew Rayner & Roger Loomes met up with Simon Thomas from BBC Blue Peter to shoot the links for the video
A hectic 2 weeks of editing completed the video, which was released on the 12th December

The video is also available locally or by mail order - see news page for details
