About the project.......
4un2us is schools-based music project and took place in Felixstowe, Woodbridge and Ipswich during the autumn of 2002. The project was run by Christians from local churches.
The main aims of the project were:
* To provide an opportunity for school children to participate in the recording of a professionally recorded Christmas CD and music video, and to perform in live concerts.
* To bring schools in the area together with a unifying focus
* To raise awareness and money for Tearfund, a charity working with children in third world countries
* To encourage children to think about the real message of Christmas
The main focus age range for the
children involved was key stage 2
(school years 3 - 6 inclusive, ages 7 - 11)
4un2us was run by a team of people from local Christian Churches. It is the same team that ran the 'COUNTDOWN for the king' (1999) and 'Let the bells ring out' (1996) projects. Both of these previous projects were extremely successful, involving all the local schools, sell out concerts and raising lots of money for charity
DID IT ACHIEVE? YES ! 4un2us produce a highly popular CD and video, featuring hundreds of children from the schools involved. It also held 5 successful concerts, two of them featuring Simon Thomas from Blue Peter. It has raised lots of money for the charity Tearfund (see news page for latest info).
